A letter to the makers of Peeps, Just Born, Inc.

Dear Just Born, Inc:
The Bunnies and Chicks of America (BCA) demand a cease and
desist of the production and sale of your baby chick and bunny
marshmallow Peeps. We feel that your marshmallow effigies,
while delicious, encourage the barbaric objectification of baby
chicks and bunnies everywhere. Why, just the other day, a small
human toddler pointed at us and squealed, "Peeps!” Needless
to say, we were, at the same time, frightened and insulted. Had
this child not been restrained in her cart she may have very well
tried to eat us alive thus resulting in horrific mess of blood,
feathers and fur that would have surely scarred the child and
other on-lookers for life. This is unnecessary.
Please keep in mind that we take no issue with your other
marshmallow Peeps likenesses i.e., jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, X-
mas trees, hearts and gingerbread men as they are just things
and made-up stuff that we don’t really care about. Can’t you just
change your Easter marshmallow treats to Easter Eggs with
multi-colored sugar coating or something?
Until you do, the BCA will boycott your products (except Mike &
Ike’s & Hot Tamales – those are pretty awesome!)
